The Producers Conference, Amsterdam, Netherlands

conference.pngYeaaaa ! Supersonique Studio (Laurence and me) was in Amsterdam to the The Producers Conference

The Producers Conference is where artists and producers share their secrets ? Yes it’s true !!!

We was in Amsterdam the September 20/21, 2008 and we are lucky with 2 sunny days and not so cold weater LOL.

Supersonique Studio.jpg Day one : After a nice shopping afternoon (who broke our legs and feet hi hi)  we has trying to diner in MOMO but too late (we was in, the Park Hotel, nice place, but the worst acceuil I see, anyway) and we finished in a nice Mexican restaurant. We was completely dead and the Amsterdam night fever will be for another trip !

Day Too : Breakfast, shower, and GO ! We walk along the Prisengracht to the the famous Studio 150 .

Let’s go to the first presentation =>

Simon Grey - Propellerhead.jpgSimon Grey launch the session with a presentation of Reason 4 (who know already Reason 4 ? we all put our hands up!). But in fact lots of new features like Thor or Regroov need to be explain deeper. Because Thor is a interesting synth with infinite possibilities, but the infinite is a lil too much for non-keyboard specialise like us (We are only human no ?).  And Simone is a brilliant keyboard guru who can play bass (especialy with the help of the new Prop bass Refill) like a pro  on his keyboard (damn, why I always try to play bass on my bass ?  lol).  After this presentation I feel more aware using Thor and Regroov and always a bad bass user ROFL.

Stefan Schmid - Zuco 103.jpgI would like to tanks Stefan Schmid to do his entire presentation in english for a couple of non-neelandish (not only us LOL !). After a great live using Live (see 1 mn video from Stefan Schmid) he explain us a more practical vision of live using Live and share some secret on his Live playing.

Luke Mourinet - Ruff and Jam.jpg

And for the finish, Luke Mourinet from Ruff and Jam open our mind on remix how-to. He explain how he work for majors and how he found his inspiration. He is a nice and smart guy who share a little bit of his long experience about remixing process and his exchanges with remixed artists.

It was a really interesting conference, not a simple show-case to sell product with demonstrator who explain that you need to buy there software, but a practical vision of the music production with Live and Reason.
